This weekend's weather 2/7-2/8 -- any snow?
Teaser -- not much, but it's more about the frigid temperatures and crazy high winds.
So this week looks marginal for snow. There is a clipper system coming down from Canada that might bring us an inch of snow. In West Virginia, now’s the perfect time to go skiing up there. They’ll be getting 12 inches (in fact blizzard warnings are up). Those snow bands come down from Canada and have a hard time crossing those high WV mountains, and the topography of Virginia dries out the clouds. By the time they reach VB, they generally are gone. This is a really intense system, and just enough energy will sneak across and into VA where it’ll drop over us and might squeeze out an inch of snow. The 411…
When? Friday night
Start Time? Between 5-11 pm. Can’t pinpoint exact time. There’s an early snow band around 5-7 pm and then a later band around 9-11 pm.
How Much? 0.1 in-0.5 in max. And that’s IF we get snow.
Percent Chance we’ll see snow? 60%
Percent Chance it will cover the roads? 20%
What Would Close? Nothing. It’ll be really cold, and will be around tomorrow, but any cars driving on the road will mash/melt the snow away.
Final warning. Next day or two will be really cold. Like National Weather issuing a Cold Weather Watch which never happens here. Please take this seriously and consider ordering a pizza and watching Netflix. Personal Rec: Beef Just 1 season.
